A U-Turn for Williams?: Cable News Network and NBC anchor Mary Alice Williams are said to be talking about her possibly returning to CNN “in some capacity.” Williams moved in 1989 from CNN to NBC, where she was scheduled for several on-air assignments, but now she mainly co-anchors “Sunday Today” and sometimes is a weekend anchor for “Nightly News.” Friends say the lack of work has gotten to her and she has asked permission to explore other employment opportunities.
