SANTA PAULA : School Board OKs $5.4-Million Budget
Trustees for the Santa Paula Union High School District approved a $5.4-million budget for the 1991-92 school year Tuesday, ending more than a month of debate.
The budget includes $540,000 in cuts, including six teachers, two head coaches and the computer lab.
Most of the debate concerned the proposed elimination of a summer agricultural program and summer hours at the community’s only swimming pool at Santa Paula Union High School.
The programs were saved when trustees approved a proposal by the city of Santa Paula to pay $3,700 to keep the pool open during the summer, and the agriculture teacher’s summer salary was renegotiated.
