Ex-Driver Gets Prison, Fine for Shooting at Bus
A former Greyhound bus driver was sentenced Tuesday to the maximum term of six years and three months in prison and fined $6,250 for shooting at a bus.
Roger Cawthra, 45, of Stratford, was convicted in May of criminal mischief, reckless endangerment in the first degree and unlawful discharge of a firearm after he shot at a Greyhound bus as it drove along Interstate 84 in Farmington.
The March 13, 1990, shooting came 10 days after Greyhound drivers went on strike over wages and benefits. Cawthra was out of work with an injury when the shooting took place, but he supported the strike.
