4 Restaurants Awarded for Excellence

Four Orange County restaurants recently received Four Diamond awards for dining excellence from the American Automobile Assn. They are Antoine in Le Meridien, Newport Beach; the Cellar in Fullerton; Chanteclair, Irvine, and Five Crowns, Corona del Mar.

Those busy Crivello brothers, who already own Bina Ristorante Italiano in Santa Ana and Rumari in Laguna Beach, have opened Cafe Piazza in Dana Point. Prices range from $5 to $13. The Disneyland Hotel’s Disney Character Meals, showcasing Chip ‘n’ Dale, Minnie Mouse and friends, have now shifted into a daily summer schedule. Presented in the Chef’s Kitchen restaurant, breakfast and dinner buffets feature table-side visits with Disney favorites. Breakfast (7 to 11:30 a.m.) is $10.95 for adults and $6.95 for children 12 years and under. Dinner (5 to 9 p.m.) includes beef and seafood entrees and a build-your-own burger and hot dog bar. Monique in Laguna Beach began regular service of Sunday brunch this month, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The four-course menu includes soup, exotic fruits, choice of entree and dessert, plus chef Guy Sockrider’s own foccacini and zucchini bread.
