BASEBALL / DAILY REPORT : ANGELS : Ryan Goes Home, Bypasses Anaheim

Nolan Ryan didn’t accompany the Rangers to Anaheim for this four-game series. Instead, he went from Oakland to Texas to prepare for his next start Tuesday against the Angels at Arlington. “I talked to Nolan this afternoon and there’s no doubt in his mind he’s pitching,” Ranger Manager Bobby Valentine said.

The starting time of the Angels’ game against the New York Yankees July 14 has been moved up to noon to accommodate TV. It will be preceded by an old-timers’ game matching renowned American League home-run hitters against National Leaguers in a three-inning contest. That game will start at 10:45 a.m.
