Harriman Jones Clinic Joins Hospital’s Parent Firm

Long Beach Community Hospital and the Harriman Jones Medical Clinic made their three-year relationship formal when Harriman Jones recently joined the hospital’s parent company, Unihealth America, which is based in Burbank.

“This will not affect Harriman Jones patients at all. Long Beach Community Hospital has been serving Harriman Jones patients almost exclusively for over three years. There will be no change in the patients and how they are cared for,” said Janet Parodi, hospital president. “We’re delighted to be joining Harriman Jones; we’re excited about the merger.”

Dr. Harriman Jones started his clinic and hospital in 1930, when he envisioned a group of doctors working together, with their own hospital on the premises. It was a new idea at the time, and the facility, at the corner of Cherry Avenue and Broadway in Long Beach, operated as an independent clinic for 35 years, until closing its doors in 1965.

Harriman Jones’ doctors then regrouped at a new building at Redondo Avenue and Willow Street, and many selected Long Beach Community Hospital to meet their hospital needs. Harriman Jones Medical Clinic now has 72 physicians on staff.
