TUSTIN : Nelson Elementary Principal Named
The Tustin Unified School District has appointed Darlene Messinger principal of Nelson Elementary School.
She replaces Dan Brooks, who will become principal of Currie Middle School today. Messinger has been an administrative intern and assistant principal in the Fullerton School District the last two years.
The board also recently appointed Dawn Clemens assistant principal at Foothill High School.
Clemens had been activities director at Century High School in Santa Ana for two years. Before that, she taught economics and other subjects at San Dimas High School for five years. While there, she pioneered a dropout-prevention program for at-risk students.
