17-Year-Old Boy Seized in Shooting in Park
A 17-year-old boy suspected of robbing, beating and shooting a man in a Carson park has been arrested at his Los Angeles home, authorities said Monday.
The youth, whose name was withheld because of his age, allegedly joined two other gang members in robbing the victim and a woman Sunday evening in Willowbrook Park on Avalon Boulevard, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Gabe Ramirez said.
After the robbery, one suspect beat the man and shot him, Ramirez said. The woman was unharmed.
Witnesses provided information that led detectives to the youth’s Los Angeles home, where he was arrested on suspicion of murder. He was being held without bail at Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall, Ramirez said.
