CBS Says Skinner Flight Lessons Cost $40,000
Transportation Secretary Samuel K. Skinner has taken more than $40,000 worth of flying lessons on government jets with instruction from government pilots, all at taxpayer expense, CBS News reported Tuesday.
CBS said it had obtained official flight records showing that during the past two years Skinner had flown 47 hours as co-pilot on planes sent aloft “solely for Skinner’s lessons.”
The CBS report said that Federal Aviation Authority pilots logged their time aloft with Skinner as official “instruction” aboard Cessna Citation executive jets.
