A clerk was shot to death in a Van Nuys liquor store, Los Angeles police said Thursday.
Police found Roberto Esqueda, 29, of Bell Gardens dead on the floor of Ladd Liquors in the 13100 block of Sherman Way near Ethel Avenue about 9:50 p.m. Wednesday, Officer Andrea Balter said
The killer walked into the store, approached the counter, shot Esqueda in the upper torso and fled on foot, Balter said. It was unclear whether the store was robbed, she added.
