Japanese entry Marishiten cut Chance’s lead from 81 to 47 miles in the Transpac race to Hawaii, but was given little chance to overtake Bob McNulty’s Santa Cruz 70 before the expected finish today. In IOR-A class, Holua logged 265 miles and Blondie 263. Silver Bullet went from fifth to third place with a 233-mile run.
