NATION IN BRIEF : WASHINGTON, D.C. : New $100 Bill to Test Anti-Copying Efforts

The Treasury Department plans to unveil later this month a new $100 bill it hopes will be far more difficult for counterfeiters to copy than existing U.S. currency. Treasury officials declined to discuss the new anti-counterfeit measures, which will be tested on the $100 bill before the Bureau of Engraving and Printing considers expanding use of the techniques on smaller denominations.
