Financial Woes: “Considerable” financial problems have forced the Orange County Philharmonic Society to cancel a major three-day program of Tchaikovsky’s six symphonies, freeze salaries and begin considering other austerity measures including layoffs, an official said Monday. Only 312 subscriptions and $15,000 worth of single tickets had been sold for the Oct. 4-6 Tchaikovsky program which would have been the only West Coast appearance of the season by Pavel Kogan and the Moscow State Symphony.
