COUNTYWIDE : Officers Elected by County School Board

The County Board of Education has elected officers for the 1991-92 fiscal year.

At a meeting last week, members unanimously named Dean McCormick to remain as president and elected Sheila Meyers as the new vice president.

McCormick, 61, first elected to the board in 1976, is serving his fourth term representing Trustee Area IV, which includes Brea, Fullerton, La Habra, Mission Viejo, El Toro, Yorba Linda and parts of Orange and Tustin. He has served on school boards in Tustin for 17 years and was president of the California County Boards of Education for two terms.

Meyers, 56, was first elected to the board in 1980 and served for six years. In 1987 she was appointed to fill a vacancy and since then has represented Trustee Area II, which includes Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, Los Alamitos and Stanton. She was a member of the Fountain Valley School District board for 13 years. Meyers replaces Judith Ackley Michaels as vice president.

The other members of the County Board of Education are Francis X. Hoffman and Elizabeth Parker.
