Jacobs Engineering Group: The Pasadena engineering, construction and waste management company reported that third-quarter income jumped 40% to a record $5.09 million. Sales rose 19% to $262.79 million, also a record. Jacobs said its project backlog of $1.58 billion on June 30 was triple that of a year ago.
