OJAI : New Police Chief Named for City
Ojai will get a new police chief Aug. 4 when Lt. Ken Kipp of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department takes over, Sheriff John V. Gillespie said Tuesday night. Gillespie introduced Kipp, 40, of Ventura to the City Council at its Tuesday night meeting.
Gillespie said Kipp has been reassigned from academy commander at the Criminal Justice Training Center.
Kipp, an 18-year veteran of the Sheriff’s Department, will be in command of 26 sheriff’s deputies and other personnel at the Ojai Police Department.
