Woods Shares Lead in Junior Amateur
Tiger Woods of Cypress and Justin Klein of Phoenix, Md., shot two-under-par 70s Tuesday to share the first-round lead of the 44th USGA Junior Amateur golf championship.
Woods, 15, had a bogey-free round; the 17-year-old Klein was alone at the top until he double-bogeyed the 18th hole.
Chad Umetsu of Aiea, Hawaii, and Lelano McEntee of Doylestown, Pa., were the only other players in the field of 156 to break par, each shooting 71.
Dennis Hillman, 17, of Rye, N.Y., runner-up last year, shot an 80.
