How refreshing it was to see what real ballplayers looked like in “When It Was a Game” (HBO, July 8).
There was Jackie Robinson and Don Newcombe and all the other old players (from the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s) looking great in what baseball uniforms should look like . . . not the skin-tight leotards that players wear today as if they’re getting ready for the ballet.
“When It Was a Game” was my top pick of the week.
