A typically bravura--and typically excessive--John Carpenter film (from a Stephen King novel), the 1983 Christine (KCOP Thursday at 8 p.m.) takes its title from a uniquely malevolent 1958 red-and-white Plymouth Fury, which ends up in the possession of a klutzy, persecuted high school youth (Keith Gordon).

Back in 1966 Woody Allen took a minor Japanese-made James Bond imitation, erased the soundtrack and replaced it with his own zany dialogue. He called the hilarious, spoofy result What’s Up, Tiger Lily? (KCAL Saturday at 11 p.m.)
