Japan’s top brokerages Monday reluctantly revealed the names of 200 top clients they said were compensated for huge stock losses in a major financial scandal. Here are some of the entities listed by the Japan Securities Dealers Assn.:

The government’s Health and Welfare Ministry’s Pension Welfare Service Public Corp. topped the list of compensated investors with $35.5 million.

Showa Shell Sekiyu K.K. received $31.8 million.

Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., which recently purchased MCA Inc., received $31 million from three brokerages.

Hitachi Ltd. received $15.75 million from two brokerages.

Toyota Motor Corp. received $16.2 million.

Nissan Motor Co. received $11.8 million.

Marubeni Corp., a major trading company, received $44 million, including $6.5 million to the company’s U.S. subsidiary and $13.6 million to its Hong Kong subsidiary.
