Hold the Enthusiasm: Frank Sinatra has been given the go-ahead to sing in the ruins of Pompeii next month, despite concerns of art experts who worried that excited fans might get out of control and damage and pilfer the area. When the rock group Pink Floyd performed there about 10 years ago, their fans left a lot of mess and damage behind. The local tourist board has agreed to supervise security for Sinatra’s Sept. 26 concert at the site of Europe’s largest Roman relic. Jerry Come Lately: A concert promoter in Upstate New York is suing Jerry Lee Lewis for more than $1.04 million, claiming the rock ‘n’ roller came late, left early and sang poorly. “He would start a song, only sing a couple of lyrics and then stop,” Ed Smith said. “He was inaudible. He wasn’t singing into the mike.” Smith sued over a July 10 performance before an audience of 2,500 at Melody Fair in North Tonawanda.
