Transcisco Units Put in Chapter 11: Transcisco Industries Inc. of San Francisco put two units--one of them its luxury train to Reno--under Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection to shield them from creditors. The other unit placed in Chapter 11 was Transcisco’s holding company. The company said its main business--leasing and maintaining rail cars--won’t be affected. It staked much of its expansion hopes on the train that runs between the San Francisco area and Reno, but it had to shut down the heavily promoted Sierra 49er Express in May for lack of riders.
