Mason to Compete for Sailing Title
Scott Mason of the Newport Harbor Yacht Club will compete against other top sailors, including Dennis Conner, at the Etchells 22 World Championships starting Friday in San Francisco Bay.
Mason will skipper Ambush for the sixth time in the world championships. He won the Prince of Walkes Match Race Championships in 1989 and 1990. Etchells 22 are used in that competition.
Jamie Hardenbergh and Robert Kinney of Newport Harbor Yacht Club are crew members for Mason, a 34-year-old insurance agent.
