Fewer Americans Plan Vacations, Survey Finds: One in four Americans is not planning to take a vacation this year, up from one in five just three months ago, according to a poll by the management consulting firm Arthur D. Little. The survey also found that 30% of those who had dropped vacation plans did so for economic reasons. In a telephone poll conducted July 25, 26% said they were not planning a vacation of three days or more in 1991, up from 21% in April and 17% in February.
