Stu Wilson; One of L.A. Radio’s Earliest Voices

Stu Wilson, 87, one of the earliest voices on Los Angeles radio. His broadcasting career began in the early 1930s when, as an employee of The Times, he read the newspaper’s advertisements over station KHJ. Out of this grew lengthy affiliations with such local shows as “Rise and Shine,” “The Dr. Hiss Foot Clinic” and “Quiz of Two Cities.” He also was a staff announcer for KFAC, the classical music station, KFI and KMPC, and announced the radio broadcasts of the late Rabbi Edgar Magnin.
