That’s Architecture

Thank you for Suzanne Muchnic’s “Old Friends Meet Again” (Calendar, Aug. 3) on architectural photographer Julius Shulman and the Bradbury Building. It is a “must read” for those who appreciate excellence in photography and architecture.

Muchnic’s last quote of Shulman says it all: “One of the reasons I stopped working was that I couldn’t stand what architects are doing. I’ve been asked to photograph new buildings by today’s big names, but I won’t do it. That’s not architecture.”
