Sherman Oaks Man Gets Robbed Twice in England
A 65-year-old Sherman Oaks man became a crime victim twice in one day in Liverpool, England, when muggers beat him and left him unconscious, then a man who came to his aid robbed him of $1,200, police said Monday.
Anthony Wilcox was visiting Liverpool when muggers dragged him into an alley, broke his nose and stole his $10,000 Cartier watch, police said.
According to the Reuter news service, a “good Samaritan” passing by helped get Wilcox to a hospital, but stole about $1,200 the tourist was carrying in a money belt. “The man . . . offered to hold my money belt while I wiped myself down,” Wilcox said.
