Brother of Campus Shooting Victim Arrested
A man suspected of shooting his brother, a Long Beach City College accountant, has been arrested by Buena Park police, the Sheriff’s Department reported Monday.
Police found Scott Ivan Berry, 49, “living out of his car” last Thursday, according to Sgt. Dave Anderson of the sheriff’s Lakewood station. Authorities had been searching for Berry since July 25, when Marc Berry, 46, was shot three times in a staff parking lot at the Long Beach college. The two men apparently had “some sort of family dispute over an inheritance,” Anderson said.
Berry was being held without bail on charges of attempted murder, according to Anderson. Marc Berry is in good condition at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, according to a hospital spokesman.
