TOUGH ACT: Boxer Frank Tate of Houston, above, was fishing last week when an odd message was left on his answering machine. . . . Nick Bartlett of LBNT Pro Sports wanted to know if Tate was willing to take on actor Mickey Rourke in a three-round exhibition Saturday at the Bren Center. Rourke can only hope the bout lasts more than 9 1/2 seconds. Tate is a 1984 Olympic gold medalist as a light middleweight. Rourke has one professional fight. “I’m a good athlete, and he’s a good actor,” Tate said. “I’m sure I can handle him, but I’m not here to knock anybody out.”
