OCN to Be Broadcast on Dimension: Orange County NewsChannel, an affiliate of the Orange County Register, said Thursday that it has reached an agreement to be broadcast on a South County cable service owned by the parent corporation of the Los Angeles Times. Times-Mirror’s Dimension Cable Services, which has 123,000 subscribers in the South County, is expected to begin carrying the 24-hour OCN programming in January. At that time, OCN will be available in 503,000 homes. The Orange County edition of the Los Angeles Times--in conjunction with KCAL-TV--has broadcast 4 1/2-minute local news segments twice every hour on Cable News Network’s Headline News Service since April, 1990.
