Villasana Wins on Decision

Marcos Villasana of Mexico used a barrage of left and right hooks to defend his World Boxing Council world featherweight title Thursday with a victory over Ricardo Cepeda at Marbella, Spain.
The three judges unanimously awarded the decision in the 12-round match to Villasana, who suffered a heavy attack from the previously undefeated Cepeda during the first five rounds.
Cepeda, 25, born in Puerto Rico and now a resident of New York, is 22-1-1. Villasana improved to 53-7.
