SAN CLEMENTE : Infant Pulled From Family Pool Critical
A 9-month-old San Clemente boy was in critical condition Sunday after his father found him unconscious at the bottom of the family’s pool.
Jacob Robertson was taken to Samaritan Medical Center-San Clemente after the 3:20 p.m. incident in the 200 block of Calle de Anza. He was later flown by helicopter to Children’s Hospital of Orange County where his condition was being monitored.
Jacob had been left unattended and was underwater for at least a minute before his father pulled him out of the pool, San Clemente Police Lt. Hector Rivera said.
A police officer responded to the emergency call and administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation, Fire Capt. Alan Wright said. Paramedics who arrived soon after were able to revive the infant and transport him to the hospital, he said.
