FILLMORE : Meeting Is Chance to Voice Concerns
- Share via
The Fillmore City Council will hold an old-fashioned town hall meeting tonight as a way to allow residents to bring up their concerns about city government in an informal setting.
The council called the meeting to promote better communication with the public, Fillmore City Clerk Noreen Withers said. It is the first time that the council has held a town hall meeting without a specific topic on the agenda, she said. The council will open with a question-and-answer session and will then review the city’s progress on goals set after last fall’s election.
The meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at the Fillmore Senior Center on Santa Clara Street.
“It’s an opportunity to learn the concerns of residents that we don’t see,” Councilman Mike McMahan said. “We’ll be able to discuss what we’ve accomplished and see how close we are to the goals we set for the year.”
