Maxwell Sells MTV Stake: Viacom Inc. will acquire Robert Maxwell Group’s 50% stake in MTV Europe for $60 million to $65 million. The purchase will give Viacom 100% ownership of the popular music channel in Europe. MTV Europe was originally a joint venture of Viacom, Maxwell and British Telecommunications. Viacom has already acquired British Telecommunications’ stake.
