Share

With the state mandating a 20% cut in water usage, the Board of Education voted Tuesday to replace 1,100 flush valves in schools.

The new toilet valves, designed to reduce water consumption by as much as 40%, will bring Glendale schools within the guidelines, said Dick White, director of maintenance and operations.

Industry Building Supply of Los Angeles, which bid $90,000 for the valves, was the low bidder among five submitted.
