MEAN STREET U.S.A.: Anaheim Mayor Fred Hunter, irked at council budget constraints on the Police Department, has challenged Councilman Tom Daly to a patrol car ride-along Saturday night. At Tuesday’s meeting, Hunter told Daly, who is defending the budget, to “dig out your grubby jeans” and ride with him Saturday night in the Disneyland and downtown areas to see for himself. . . . “We’re losing the battle,” Hunter, a former police officer, complained. Daly says he’ll ride with the police, but not with Hunter.
