Big-Buck Buyers: In case you still wonder why Orange County homes cost so much:
Orange County home buyers have the highest household incomes in the nation, according to a recent study by Chicago Title and Trust Co.
The big title insurer looked at recorded residential sales from 18 major urban markets around the United States during 1990 and found that the highest median annual household income for buyers was in Orange County--$74,800.
The average price of all homes purchased in Orange County last year was $254,400 and the average monthly payment was a hefty $1,619--up 18% from $1,375 in 1989.
