Violinist Michael Voronel will perform at Temple...

Violinist Michael Voronel will perform at Temple Beth El’s S’lichot service as the High Holy Day season begins. Joining him in this performance will be his talented violinist daughter, 6-year-old Olga.

Voronel, his wife, Lena, and daughters Stacy and Olga recently emigrated from the Soviet Union as part of Operation Exodus. Yaffa Alayev, also a recent Soviet emigre, will accompany the Voronels on the piano.

Michael Voronel, a graduate of the Harkow Musical Academy, was a concert violinist and teacher with the symphony orchestras in Harkow and Chewkotka. In addition to performing, he is now a violin teacher. Alayev was a concert pianist and served as director of the School of Music of Tashkend. She teaches piano in Orange County and has recently become a member of the California Music Teachers Assn.
