** James Brown, “Love Over-Due,” Scotti Bros. Follows the pattern of Brown’s ‘60s and ‘70s albums: Include two good songs and then flesh it out with filler funk. But this time, even the highlights--”Move On” and “Dance, Dance, Dance to the Funk”--aren’t really highlights, certainly not on a par with the best of Brown. The other songs suffer from amateurish production (by Brown) and bland rhythms. If you want to retain your fond memories of Brown, skip this one.

Albums are rated on a scale of one star (poor) to five (a classic).
