I was interested in your recent “How We Tape” (TV Times, Aug. 4) cover story, and having a total now of 75 tapes in my bookcase, I feel qualified to report what I chose to record.

Unless I’m going to miss an hour or so of some special program while I’m out to dinner, I don’t record so much to watch as I do to “tape and save.” I have favorite “MTM,” “Barney Miller” and original “Newharts” plus specials like “100 Stars,” “Golden Years of Television” and talk show appearances of celebrities that are not professional appearances, but comfortable insights into the people themselves.
