IBM Announces Price Increases: International Business Machines announced its annual price increases, but industry analysts noted that nearly all the computer giant’s big-selling items were absent from the list--a sign of its worries about the health of the market. Armonk, N.Y.-based IBM said it will raise prices 5% on “many” hardware and software products sold in the U.S. market, effective Jan. 1, 1992, and will cut prices by 6% to 37% on “selected products,” effective immediately.
