Costa Mesa attorney Thomas F. Mullen, accused of masterminding a million-dollar auto accident fraud ring, was bound over for trial Monday in Orange County Superior Court after a preliminary hearing.
Arraignment for Mullen has been scheduled for Sept. 3, according to his lawyer, Paul Meyer. The prosecutor in the case, Deputy Dist. Atty. Ken Chinn, could not be reached for comment Monday.
Mullen and six others are charged with recruiting people to fake accidents and claim damages in about 100 bogus incidents.
