Two Sherman Oaks residents were among three people shot to death in a Mid-Wilshire area apartment last week, but detectives still have no motive for the triple slayings, authorities said Monday.

Los Angeles police identified the victims as Virginia Louie, 60, and Luis de Leon, 36, both of Sherman Oaks, and Darryl Newton, 43, who lived in the apartment in the 300 block of South Oxford Street. Their bodies were found about 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Lt. Daniel Lang said. “The motive is undetermined at this time,” he said.

At least one of the victims was last seen Aug. 19, five days before the bodies were found in the apartment, Lang said. The victims had been shot many times, he said.
