From Times Staff and Wire Reports

An 18-year-old convicted of a felony hate crime for beating his gay neighbor in a videotaped attack was sentenced to at least 10 months in a county youth facility. Joshua Huff, who was 17 at the time of the attack on William Kiley, also was found guilty of assault and battery. He could have been sentenced to the California Youth Authority until age 25. Huff must participate in a 120-day pre-release program after he serves the sentence. Evidence showed that Huff belonged to a “skinhead” group known for racist and anti-gay attitudes. He was ordered to have no contact with such groups.
