Miramax Pays: Actor Danny Glover arranged for Miramax, the company that distributed his “A Rage in Harlem,” to give $50,000 to the emergency fund-raising campaign at embattled Los Angeles Theatre Center. The downtown center has said it needs to raise $500,000 by the end of the month; the new gift brings the total to $430,000. The Miramax gift was announced by LATC artistic director Bill Bushnell at a Monday night benefit. Glover recalled his 1981 appearance as Macbeth at LATC’s predecessor, Los Angeles Actors’ Theatre, but noted that he had yet to appear in a play at LATC itself, adding, “I wanted it to be around so I could come and perform here.”
