U.S. Open Bowling Will Return to Fountain Valley
The Bowling Proprietors’ Assn. of America U.S. Open will return to the Fountain Bowl in Fountain Valley next year, it was announced Tuesday.
The women’s Open, won by La Habra’s Anne Marie Duggan in May, will be contested Feb. 25-March 1.
The tournament will feature 144 professional bowlers and 96 amateurs, who qualify through local and state tournaments at BPAA centers. Qualifying events will run through Jan. 20.
The final will be March 1, beginning at 9 p.m. Duggan defeated Leanne Barrette of Oklahoma City in the 1991 final match.
