GARDEN GROVE : Police to Operate Sobriety Checkpoint
The Police Department will conduct a sobriety checkpoint at an undisclosed location in the city from 9 p.m. Saturday to 3 a.m. Sunday.
During the six-hour period, police officers will check drivers for sobriety.
The aim of the checkpoints, which have been conducted by Garden Grove police on numerous occasions this year, is to reduce the number of injuries and deaths caused by drivers who have been drinking, Sgt. Jack Ray said.
The checkpoints are being conducted in accordance with guidelines set by the state attorney general’s office, Ray said.
