Defensive back Henry Jones, the Buffalo Bills’ top draft pick from Illinois, ended his six-week holdout and signed a four-year contract reportedly worth about $600,000 a year. The deal included a $900,000 signing bonus, the Buffalo News reported. . . . The New York Giants signed halfback Dave Meggett, guard William Roberts and wide receiver Mark Ingram. . . . The Philadelphia Eagles signed defensive tackle Jerome Brown to three one-year contracts. . . . Miami Dolphin cornerback J.B. Brown and tight end Ferrell Edmunds ended summerlong contract disputes and signed. . . . Running back Mike Rozier has reportedly ended his holdout and agreed to a three-year contract with the Atlanta Falcons.
Denver wide receiver Vance Johnson has been named in a paternity lawsuit. Details have been ordered closed, but the Aug. 7 court docket that lists the lawsuit names Johnson and Ft. Collins, Colo., resident Sharon K. Round and her unborn child as the parties in the case. Johnson, 28, the father of four, is engaged to be married a third time on Oct. 11.
