Unbeaten heavyweight Michael Moorer was charged with assaulting a police officer because of an incident Aug. 4 outside the fighter’s mother’s home in suburban Pittsburgh.
Moorer, who has scored 25 knockouts in 25 fights, was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct.
Moorer apologized to patrolman Carl Fronzaglio after a hearing Friday. The officer, who still had a swollen jaw, said, “It’s kind of late. Look at my face.”
