Raising Sales Sights: Citing a transition to higher-end technology, Western Digital Corp. in Irvine said it will discontinue its 20-megabyte and 40-megabyte disk drives.

Robert J. Blair, spokesman for the financially struggling computer parts manufacturer, said price competition in the low-end market has been severe. The company will focus on higher-margin, larger-capacity disk drives.
